31 August 2015

The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.(Matthew 24: 50,51)

Christ will come again even though we put off thoughts of Christ’s coming. The unbelief of mankind shall not stop that great promise and it will be a day when a sinner n wicked minister won't look for. He has told us before the signs to look out for! This verse says the doom of every unbelieving is nothing but death and damnation where there will be gnashing of teeth!

That day Lord "shall cut him" ; i.e shall separate the righteous and evil; it says "shall cut him down", like a tree that falls to the ground; if we divide ourself between God and the world, our profession and lusts, Lord may divide us too!! So let us choose the right portion, above everything else. Let make decisions wisely!

But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,(Matthew 24: 37-38)

Jesus used an analogy when describing the coming of the Lord; like the days of Noah. In Noah's time we read lawlessness and corruption was abound! People were warned through Noah of the rains but no one took heed! Jesus says similar would  be when theLord comes; although being warned many will continue to walk in their ways Andrew wats of the world!!! We read in Genesis that Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Let us also seek God and his ways so that we may be blameless before God!

29th August 2015

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:(Matthew 24:29)

Jesus speaks about the end of times after what follows, of the end of the tribulation. It was in the same lines of what we are warned by Isaiah (Isaiah 13:10 )The stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light; the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. Ezekiel 32:7-8 says I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. In Daniel too we read that some of the host and of the stars will be cast to the ground. Prophet Joel, (Joel 2:30-31) says, I will show wonders in heaven and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood.

What are we to do on reading such warnings? Make our paths straight, make our walk with Christ our first priority, to set Him before us at all times, to be an example of Christ's love, to have the love for His Church as Jesus had, to be under the unction of Holy Spirit the constant companion and  to be part of the Great Commission that Jesus commissioned His disciples!

28th August 2015

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (Matthew 24:12)

Jesus says when wickedness increases love will go cold! Lawlessness or iniquity includes many things like not being disciplined, immorality, self seeking, arrogant, imitation of Gentile practices, accepting what God hasn't ordained and such. The Love what Jesus refers to is generic with having a God-centred attitude; being subjected to His authority and brotherly love with others.

How will love go cold? The troubles one face, the depressive thoughts and persecutions can turn some cold. If worldliness and self-seeking attitudes creeps in it is possible to loosen our dependence and trust upon God; what is even worse is out internal dissensions will cause that brotherly love in us to be destroyed. With our strength we cannot stand tall or strong we need to be dependent on Him day in and day out.  We know love turning cold is seen as being "Lukewarm"! In the letter to Church of Laodicea (in the book of Revelation) we see destiny of those who are lukewarm "Because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." Let us examine ourselves to see where we stand today ...are we hot, cold or lukewarm in Christ. I pray that our heart shouldn't be hardened not too see own's faults! Let us get back to where Christ expects us to be and press towards running the race for Him victoriously!!

“For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”
Matthew 24:5 KJV

We are living inthe end times! Let us not be deceived that's why we need Holy Spirit to discern the right and wrong. To make wise decisions and to follow only Christ!!! Church are you ready to discern every message and the speaker? Not with our worldly or carnal eyes but with spiritual eyes! All those of us who see and hear let us see with His eyes! If we could see like He did there would be less issues!

Father let me not be the deceiving or the deceived, I need you more than ever!

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.”
Matthew 23: 25-26 KJV

Do not disregard this verse as being spoken to Pharisees!! Do we who profess to Bertie followers of Christ, appear to be clean on the outside?? Let us examine today way lies inside of us! What defines our thoughts? What defines our attitude to do godly things? Is it for fame or name? Is it expecting something in return from Christ? Are we self seeking??

Take some moments to think about what we are and let's ask God to forgive for the times we seemed clean on the outside whilst still carrying all the dirt inside? Shall we take time to confess all uncleanliness that is hidden to the outside world? If we are truly to be called His we need to be clean inside and out!
Father God forgive me for all my mistakes, m make me clean like you expect!

“And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”
Matthew 23:12 KJV

A very different law than how it is in this world! We put banners, cards and even post on social media to get done attention to the things that are of our interest! Let it be to lift our Lord the eternal father!! If we humble before God He will lift us up !!

24 August 2015

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Matthew 22:37-40 KJV

Two commandments that Jesus emphasised on was to love our God and how to love a man! N he says of these hang all the law and the prophets! Loving our Lord part holds the key to all our successes, our attitude n relationship with Lord speaks profound about a lot of other things! The love for our Lord with all our heart, soul n mind! If we live someone we would do things to make us feel lovable ....so if our relation with our Lord is right, He can work in favour of us. Jesus also advised us to keep our relation with other humans too we are to love others as we live ourselves. Perhaps not an easy task when it comes to love our neighbour! But if we live God we will surely live a man!

“Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.” (Matthew 22:9 KJV)

In this parable Jesus speaks of the great marriage feast as an allegory, and we see the invited didn't come. The invitation is not confined to Jews but given to Gentiles and the whole human race! Are we ready to embrace the truth and live for the truth? Will we accept Jesus and bear the fruits He expects?? Let us be thankful for extending the invitation to include us for the Marriage of the Lamb!

“Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.” (Matthew 21:43 KJV)

We call ourselves the trees planted by Christ. Do we who claim to be planted in the vineyard bear fruits?? When the Lord of the vineyard will come, he will surely destroy the wicked.Christ was rejected by the Jews but embraced by the Gentiles. If we reject Him too it will be taken off us! Let us make Christ our priority, his vision n mission to be ours too. Let us be willing to follow him n work towards bearing fruits!!.

21august 2015

And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.(Matthew 21:19)(KJV)

A little research says fig trees were planted by the road side often. And in  Palestine some fig trees were found to bear fruit for 10 out of 12 months! It seems certain trees that grow out of rocks won't have leaves or fruit in certain months which might be one such that Jesus saw. A tree was barren but Jesus expected it to bear fruit! We read in MarK 11 that it wasn't time for figs yet Jesus has expectations for it. Jesus sees each of us as trees capable of bearing fruit. Let be sensitive to our call and do not be blind and hard in Christ or we might be uprooted !!!

20th August 2015

But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: (Matthew 20:26-27)(KJV)

Kingdom principles that Jesus taught are not what the world teach us! Jesus said do unto others as you would expect them to do to you! If we want to be great in His sight, we need to “kill” the “I” in us and be willing to serve and minister to others. When we serve others we need to be available not whenever it is convenient but according to whom we serve we need to be available!! That means, we may have messy schedules, sleep deprived nights, longer days, less family time, lesser privacy,  lesser vacations, or all our vacations may be oriented towards serving God!!

We have to kill all our desires and pleasures to serve and minister. During this process it transforms us to be Christ like. He condescended for our sakes, he paid the price on the cross even for every single sin of OURS…!!! He paid price for what HE did not do…would we?? When people talk behind our backs, when people misrepresent us and misquotes us, when people break our trust and tell others of what we privately spoke to them, how do we react??  What are our thoughts when others speak evil and incorrect things? do we despise, rebuke, remain in anger, or is it making us depressive?? We need to examine ourselves where we stand in comparison to Christ’s unconditional love, forgiveness and kindness….We know "a kernel of wheat will not bear fruit until it falls on the ground and dies completely…”. To bear good fruits for His Kingdom we have to kill our ego, selfishness and remind  forego the things we hold close, God can use our weaknesses only if we rely on His strength more than our strengths!!

19th August 2015

Abide in me, and I in you. (John 15:4)

Certain days I sit down for a personal prayer time and fall asleep instead of having a strong  connection between God and me!! It is nothing but sheer laziness because if I were to have an exam the following day, regardless of how tired I was I would refrain from sleeping!! As Jesus says these words, I think of those times when I get too comfortable with a sleepy faith, a shut-eye that makes me doze and doze away allowing the prayer warrior in me to die out.

Where am I abiding in Him as I sleep off during a personal connection moment???
Where am I abiding when I am distracted with trivial matters in the middle of a personal prayer??

If Jesus has to abide in me and I in Him continually, there is this fight against my lazy self and my sleepy faith! Jesus doesn’t like lukewarm followers(the church of Laodicea)  but who are vibrant in faith so that our lives can be used for His glory!

So today I am fighting those “lukewarm” moments to keep myself wide and awake at all times for His glory. Revelation 3:19 says "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” Dear Lord, Please forgive me for the moments of sleepy faith I show in your Holy presence but please restore me Father. Thank you for The Word that leads me to repentance. Holy Spirit, be my counselor, let me be fully alive to You today!!

(Note*: Unlike the sleepy me, I do have strong prayerful people to whom I send these thoughts to; daily. I humbly request your prayers for me today!! )

Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.  (Matthew 19:6)(KJV)

When two becomes one flesh, the significant point to note is; they are “two” before marriage; 2 individuals who considered “I” to be prevalent after marriage need to be  “One” and should consider themselves to become “We”. Not only that they are one, this institution of marriage was first established by God himself in the garden of Eden. He instituted it to be like a trifold cord with God being the PRME cord. We read that a trifold cord is not easily broken, if God is the first cord in every marriage, it can sustain even in a rough weather!! Let no one break this union and separate them since God himself, established it!!

We know God created Adam before HE created Eve. Eve was created as a companion and a helpmate for Adam. If we are currently married, let us have no disruptive and destructive thoughts and attitudes towards our marriage. If we are not more married let us pray that God will keep us and prepare us as His Bride !!! We who are married in our OWN strength cannot hold our marriages together! It is our God who preserves us...Satan may try to attack marriages in different ways, through thoughts, through people, through kids or through circumstances but let us look to the prime cord that is Christ himself for all our needs !

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. (Matthew 18:6)(KJV)

But whoever shall offend one of these little ones; those that think little of themselves their own eyes, who may be contemptible in the eyes of the world and may not be received like the known ones. It might be Ministers of Christ who have churches with a small crowd, whose ministry is not heard of, who are perhaps overlooked and their work even reproached. It says clearly, if anyone does anything to discourage, dissuade cause them to stumble and fall, to an extend that they drop professing Christ, it was better for such offending individuals to endure harsh punishment, than offending any of Christ's disciples.

You might be a new believer, a new church member who has deep passion for Christ and His Great Commission. If at any point in time, you have felt being offended, in all that you do for His Name do not feel discouraged, Jesus already knew some of us would be in this position. Also, let us not allow our flesh to rule our spiritual man and have thoughts of flesh to overrule...instead, pray for them that offend us!!! Perhaps people carry a smug, it could even be the so called spiritual men of God, let us pray for them and not be discouraged!!!

16th August 2015

Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.  (Matthew 18:15,16)(KJV)

This is a  powerful advice, if anyone has anything committed anything against us, we need to take the first step “go” to try solve it between that two individuals. With the fad of keeping up with the "social media”, it becomes easy to “name and shame” publicly or privately and its easy to tarnish another person. Most often we hear and see of people not dealing with an individual on a one-on-one level instead using indirect means. Although, sometimes in life when people disappoint us, when circumstances are not in favour of us; God is teaching us to kill the last bit of “I” in us….. “except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone, but if it die it bring forth much fruit”. He may bring us to places and people where we have to stop and truly mean “I surrender all” so that HE might crown us victors and HE WILL BE THE VICTOR and not us but thats another thought altogether!! The point here is, how Jesus’s disciple should, deal with another trespassing against us!! If the other patiently takes our reproof, acknowledges and reconciles, then we may have restored the person, our relationship! But, if the person denies it or defends it only then Jesus is asking us to says to openly reprove in front of all !!

What is our stake to deal with people who offends us?? Do we have the courage to speak directly and to win a relationship?? Or will we let it go with an attitude o “time will heal”?? Not any easy choice and sometimes not a favourable end, esp if you shoulder a ministry, but let me ask….who’s disciple are we ??

15th August 2015

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 18:10)(KJV)

Jesus says about not to despise any one of these little ones. God cares for every single person he is warning "advanced believer” not to despise “children” or to stop Church privileges or be self-seeking, instead understand the simple and childlike spirit.

The second half of this verse, "Their angels in heaven behold the face of my Father which is in heaven needs a bit more high level” needs clarity..so I leave this note in my diary to ask people of more knowledge !!

14th August 2015

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭18:3-4‬)(KJV‬‬)

Jesus says to his disciples that they should “turn” away from their vain views of honor, being self-seeking. He says, to enter the kingdom of heaven, we must be like children; humble, modest and not be envious of one another. Jesus expects us to  treat fellow brethren freely without distinction and be willing to condescend to the all levels just like a child would; The world around us may look at our social, financial or spiritual level from their eyes. But, the kingdom principles of Heaven doesn’t value “status quo” as a true  disciple, make me more humble, not be envious of even a spiritual person, and to treat everyone in Christ equally!!!

Treating all equally, brings an instance to mind that a 9 year old asked his Mum whilst she was taking out a piece of crockery from her shelf before some guests came. She being married for 11 years, and having inherited her Mum’s interest in crockery, never invested much time or money in it! As she was taking out few things her son asked why she was taking out a specific set of cups out. She explained the need to be “hospitable towards guests". Suddenly the kid blurts out “Mama why haven’t you not taken it out when Mr.X who comes every week does that mean He is not special!!” For a moment it was like a slap to the Mum of what she portray to her child. Her reasons of taking it out was only because it was a bigger crowd that was coming. She asked her child to recollect the instances when that specific set out; the Child agreed it was always for a bigger crowd. The child left happily, but that let that Mum think for a long time!! Some times, we may not intentionally but God weighs our hearts, we may be able to shun the thoughts or words of another human, but if we have the Holy Spirit in us, clearly it will stir from within!!!

It is not by our might or power but truly His Grace. It is not what people think about us, it is about what God tells about us. No one would know whats going through our mind..We can act or put up a face to “be childlike” but, only Christ can give us that nature!! if there are areas we fail, let us ask God right now, to make us true disciple…to purge us day in an day out!

13th August 2015

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. (Matthew 16:24-25)((KJV)

This is an invitation that reflects the meaning of real disciple of Christ, and HE is speaking these words to those who have already been following Him: - to his discples.

To truly be a Christian involves,
  1. denying of self by parting ways from sinful & worldly nature, deny the pleasure the world promises, and stop doing things to make ourselves “righteous”!
  2. taking up our cross : to bear with patience every affliction, evil, persecution for which we are called for
  3. and following Christ with self-denial!

Jesus says if we desire to keep ourselves from troubles, persecution and chooses ways other than Christ to get favours, worldly titles, honour and blessings fro the world,we will loose it! On the judgment day, such will be sent to hell. But if someone is willing to sacrifice the pleasures of life and lay down his life for Christ, and to be ed by the truth, he shall enjoy the eternal life with Christ, which is free from pain, afflictions, where there joy and happiness is endless!

12th August 2015

But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.(Matthew 16:23)(KJV)

Just a few verses away, we see Peter professing his revelation of Christ. We see a Jesus who was willing enough to fulfil His role as the Son of God. Jesus knew he had to sacrifice, a price to pay, death and torture in some time. But, Peter with all good intentions didn’t want Jesus to go through this. But he was thinking from his perspective and not from God the father’s perfect will.

In our lives too when we know that God expects us to do certain things which may seem to be hard, the world around us; out of good intentions may urge us to take the easy path. Like Jesus rebuked the thoughts of Peter, meaning to say his thoughts were influenced by the ‘wisdom of the world’, can we take courage to do it??

I got a pic from a friend this morning which made me think again that I take so many simple things in life for granted, including having a book to turn to, The Bible! Thank you Lord for every thing you've blessed us with!

11th August 2015

Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:17-19)(KJV)

Jesus asks His disciples what the world says about the Son of Man for which they all had answers. When Jesus asked the same to his disciples, Peter was the first to reply. Peter not only had a TRUE revelation about Christ, but had faith to profess boldly that Jesus was the son of the living God. This is what made Jesus to bless him differently. Because of his revelation Jesus named him Peter, indicating firmness in professing the truth he knew. Christ then declares the authority Peter would be given. What is our revelation of Christ, our blessings, our future everything relies on our revelation of Christ. To be truly blessed and to be truly given the authority, we need to that the right revelation and the boldness and firmness of Peter!!! Let us represent him boldly with the truth that God has revealed to us!!

10th August 3015

And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. (Matthew 15:27,28)(KJV)

The Canaanite woman's child was possessed with a devil that the Mother went to Jesus for her child’s deliverance. Jesus clearly rejects to help by saying he came for the lost sheep of Israel. If we’d gone all the way, if we were nearly mocked…and made us so undeserving, what would we have responded, words of ANGER or words of FAITH???  She took the courage to speak up her case, agreeing she wasn’t worthy but believed that “crumbs” was enough for her, for her child!!!

When the odds are against us, what faith do we depict?? When words of destructiveness are thrown upon us, when thoughts of discouragement takes room within us..what DO WE DO? Do we allow such thoughts/words to grow on us…or do we WE shake off those words and CLAIM our promises in Christ. If we are a child of God, HE will protect our inheritance and our portion. Despite seeing and experiencing several miracles, why do we still lack faith, why do we give weightage to the words of others? If Jesus offered to help a Gentile just because of her FAITH how much more he would act if His CHOSEN generation, depict FAITH….

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?(Matthew‬ ‭14:30-31‬)(KJV‬‬)

I want to begin with a 'thank you' for all who take time to read the notes I send in whatsapp!! I used to keep a weblog to record my thoughts and snippets which hardly anyone knew. There were one or two who motivated me to share my thoughts on whatsapp! You may have met me in my school days, or during college, or as a church member's daughter, or at work or we may be family or as wife of a church member or probably you know me as Pastor's wife... Regardless of what 'tag' you have given me kindly know, as I share my thoughts/notes neither is my intention to pass judgement on anyone nor, am I a theologist, I'm just a wife and a mother who deeply desire to grow in faith and knowledge of Christ. I key in notes when specific bible verses stirs a thought in me most often it is a note or reminder to myself! I've imperfections and several levels to grow in Christ but I am HIS work in progress! The Word of God has the power to transform and smoothen all my rough edges. I am sorry if I offended anyone or if I sounded to be pinpointing, or sound superior, NO that was never an intention!!

Back to my thought for today, We may have stepped in with faith to walk on sea (the impossibilities) in a rough weather with our focus/faith on/in Christ!. Even after having Him near us, even after seeing the impossible turn into a possibility, whilst still experiencing a miracle there is a chance to FALL if we see the Boisterous WIND and not the ONE who can tame the winds n the sea!! Father God forgive me for the times I've focussed on the winds n not on Jesus. I want to be able to focus only on Christ!!

8th August 2015

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭13:30‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

Lord allows the tares to grow with the wheat! Let not the wheat focus on the tares it is the master's job to separate at harvest! If we're the church and the members of His body let us focus on one thing God's purpose for us. Let us stretch Him Arms, feet, eyes, fingers, toes to reach out to the lost and the dying, give hope for the hopeless, pray for the needy, extend our hands to those in need, spread a little love and to bring glory to His name by exalting and lifting up the name of Jesus...

The chorus of one of casting crowns' songs goes like:
But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way!!!!

Let us pray for the manifestation of Holy Spirit to be upon every single body of Christ including us!

7th August 2015

For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. (‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭12‬ KJV)

Most often this is quoted in relation to earthly or material benefits, but verse 11 speaks about those to whom the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven were given! Jesus is talking to his disciples to whom he spoke the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven in parables!

Speaking in the context of today's times, we who profess to be 'in the church', who spend time in prayer meetings; let us yearn for abundance of the understanding of the mysteries of His Kingdom and seriously pray for more of it and not to loose what have been given !! We read in Hosea "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." Let us not be like the Israelites instead be submissive to learn at the feet of Jesus so as to pick from the mystery and knowledge of His Kingdom and desire for more!!

The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord (Isaiah 29:19)

The meaning of meek is to endure with patience and without resentment, being submissive; A humble attention/receptivity, to the will of God. The "meek" are not weak their greatest strength is they are submissive and under God's control. It takes great faith, commitment, and determination to live a meek life before God. If God requires sacrifice, the meek will give willingly as they trust Him completely. The meek with kill their selfish desires, nail their ambitions and joyfully obey when God demands obedience! Because they are submissive to God they experience Him more and their
joy is continually increasing. Their joy is planted in the Lord and is not tied to personal circumstances or from the fame/name in this world.

Are we entirely submissive or partially submissive?? Where is our joy planted?? There are moments discouragement creeps in our minds, Satan attacks our minds in ways we don't know but if our joy is increasing we can look at the thoughts and say  'get behind me'. Today, I ask you dear Lord to teach me to be meek at all times and to make it a way of life! Forgive me Lord for not being completely planted in your joy. Help us to be meek to have the dependable, lasting and ever-increasing joy that comes from a life of complete submission to our good and wise and glorious God!

Show me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths (Psalm 25:4)

God has a way, a path, for our life which we will need to know. God is interested in the small and big decisions we take. If we ask our Lord he will be willing to show and teach us the path He has for us. God has promised to lead and direct us so let us seek Him to understand His will in our life, in every decision we make, each path we trod.

In every decision we face daily be it small, or life-changing pray like the Psalmist. Dear Lord show me what to choose and which path to take and I will follow it, in accordance with your Word!!!

4th August 2015

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:22-23)

There are many steps and acts of faith that we take in our spiritual life. And these verses are a reminder for us to examine carefully if all we do are truly led by the Holy-Spirit, or in a moment of spontaneity. All our thoughts words, actions and hidden motives are not hidden from our Lord.

We are to be controlled not by flesh but by Holy-spirit which Apostle Paul himself urges us to! If we have prophesied in His name? If we have professed His name do we witness Christ or are we boasting of what we have becomes in Him or by Him? The verse 23 brings a very spine-chilling verse, that gives us the stir…every time we read let us surrender before God and admit there are areas where we failed to bear fruit…a good fruit!! But dear Lord do not turn your back on us on that day, at the end of times…Even as I type these words,Lord forgive me for the times that I have had my carnal self take over my spiritual self. Remind me to have a deep desire each day to to say with John the Baptist, “He must becomes greater; I must become less."

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple (Matthew 4:5) (KJV)
As a person it is hard to digest the fact that Jesus was put to temptation by Satan. Being a parent would we expose our kids to a prospective person who is nothing but sin and filth? Yet, the Father did not spare His own Son (for our sake) Jesus from being tempted.

If Jesus was taken by Satan to decieving ways, we should watch and examine our position at all times. Christ set an example of using THE WORD knowledge when tempted to sin. Even when out wants are pressing let us LEARN NOT TO TAKE wrong ways to meet our supply, but TRUST that in some way the Lord will provide!!!! Satan can tempt us (even misquote) even in the holy city/high places(in any realm) with pride. Satan promised to give the glory of the world (a very charming temptation) by worshiping Satan which Christ rejected with an order saying "Get thee hence, Satan!”

Some of the temptations we face may be openly wicked that we should not only not yield to but reject with an order!! "Resist the Devil and he shall flee from you!"Will we choose to reject all such traps or offers of Satan. Verse 11 says when the Devil left, the angels ministered to Him!!  Jesus knows by experience, what it was to suffer during a temptation, so he will not only understand us when tempted, but will minister and bring relief unto us if we resist the devil!

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. ( 1 Chronicles 4:10) (KJV)

Jabez was named so after his mother bore him in pain. Have people tagged us with titles or names that is not pleasure to the ears?? It could be in our spiritual/ career/ personal life, it could have been from a fellow believer, a pillar of the church, a prayer warrior, our mentor, a loved one, perhaps it could even be a random thought, a voice…Some times, it doesn’t take words, actions of some may implicitly tags us! BUT remember, God is not a respecter of persons, HE sure is open to our cries too. He alone can change our name/ future all we need to is ASK Him!

We all have prayed for different reasons and seasons (it isn’t an overdo asking God for a new spiritual season). The devil may prompt us with our incapacities, fallacies, weaknesses, negatives and failures for we know Satan comes for..to Kill, Steal and Conquer so let us be alert to shake off any depressive thoughts. Take a moment to remember all the tags at a personal or a spiritual front, and let us pray like Jabez did. Oh dear Lord, only if thou bless me INDEED (love this word!) and enlarge my coast ( name your coast..) and that thine hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!!
