Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. - Colossians 4:5-6

With the advancements in technology and the social media presence…our communications are not restricted to face-to-face or telephone, it is also the words we use on web for the eyes of the general public, the voice or opinion we raise, it could even be boasting or making known of our personal life, to public. We need to learn to be wise in our dealings everywhere. Some comments, talks/events may tempt us to shun others, belittle others. If we spend or linger more time in voicing our opinions(unsolicited), boasting or crticizing, we may have to walk away from it all and spend time with God. To be like Christ, we have to spend more time in His presence, saying “He must increase, but I must decrease

Whether it be with dealing with outsiders, friends, brethren or family; let our speech be laced with grace, holding a tight rein on our tongue to control our words / emotions..although it isn’t easy and it is natural to lose our temper and words.  Let us suppress the angry words or critical comments and be quiet if we cannot say anything nice :) as they say “if you can’t say something nice, you shouldn’t say anything at all.” When we speak, we can choose to be gracious than being negative. Let our words glorify God and not just exalt our own opinions. Our Mothers have taught us as young children not to boast or speak evil…instead “cup our mouth” "If you play the fool and exalt yourself, or if you plan evil, clap your hand over your mouth! - Proverbs 30:32” Let us be the mouth pieces for Christ and remain in is presence to talk like Him!
